I’m Coming Out Deconstructed

July 4, 2022

[Enter horns 🎺🎷]

I’m…

Coming…

Out

[Drop the beat 🥁 ]

I’m coming out

I want the world to know

Got to let it show

I’m coming out

I want the world to know

I got to let it show

Diana Ross is a vibe, and I’m Coming Out is a global timeless anthem to all those who are tired of showing up as someone else and are ready to let the world know who they are. This song suits any personal revelation and transformation. If you need a theme song or a boost, Mizz Ross has you covered.

This is also the anthem of the sixth warrior principle, Original. Warriors embrace their gifts and share them. And they are not afraid to benefit from their gifts to create the life they want.

So far in this series, I have covered five warrior principles, WealthAwakeRaison d’Etre, and Replenish. One more remains, Reverent.

Being Awake Is Critical To Success

There’s a new me coming out

And I just had to live

And I wanna give

I’m completely positive

I think this time around

I am gonna do it

Like you never knew it

After one of the most iconic song openings ever, the verse begins with Mizz Ross exclaiming that there is a new her emerging. The warrior in her is waking up. Recall that we talked about this in the second principle, Awake. Most people will reach a moment in their life when they begin to question life and themselves, and they just have to live. This is the seventh and final chakra.

Do you see the connections yet? Seven warrior principles and seven chakras.

As she embraces her newness, which technically is her oldness because that her has always been there, she finds she’s filled with more positivity. As self-limiting beliefs begin to pile up and weigh us down, we can become cocooned in negativity. But now that wait and weight have been lost. Look out world.

Jumping Is Hard, But Staying Still Is Harder

Oh, I’ll make it through

The time has come for me

To break out of this shell

I have to shout

That I am coming out

The jump from the comfort zone to the growth zone is not easy, but it is doable. And most people will find it was worth the struggle. At this point in the song, perhaps the fear of staying the same is greater than the fear of changing. Regardless, it’s time for the shell of doubt, fear, and sameness to crack open.

We all have gifts. There is nothing like that feeling when you align to your gift, and the world opens up. Warriors embrace themselves in all of their splendor. They aren’t content to merely fit in. They want to come out! Ditch the imposter syndrome and let your freak flag fly. You aren’t stuck; you’re still.

Drop Your Mask + Unleash The Warrior

[Back to the chorus 💃🏽 ]

I’ve got to show the world

All that I wanna be

And all my abilities

There’s so much more to me

Somehow I’ll have to make them

Just understand

I got it well in hand

And oh how I have planned

It’s getting good here. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve heard me say that plan A wasn’t meant to benefit us, it was meant to benefit from us. Plan A is doing what the world tells us we should do. Plan B thru Z is you telling you what you should do.

Mizz Ross is embracing her gifts and the multiple sides of her. As a multipotentialite myself, I have so many interests and things I’m good at. And that can be tough in a world that constantly wants to put you in a box. While my interests and gifts may seem random to people not living in my brain, they are actually narrowly focused. There is something at the center of the interests. But if you want me, or Mizz Ross, for that matter, to show up within a narrow set of expectations, we won’t do it.

Warriors know there is so much to them and also know it makes them an asset, not a liability.

One of the phrases that have been used to shame multipotentialites is “a jack of all trades and a master of none.” I had a manager say that to me. I let it roll off my back because, frankly, he wasn’t a good manager or leader. It would be years, though, before I learned the whole phrase – “A jack of all trades and a master of none is ofttimes better than a master of one.” In other words, a person who can be successful at multiple things is highly sought after. No one wants to employ or work with someone who could only do one thing well.

Share The ❤️

I’m spreadin’ love

There is no need to fear

And I just feel so good

Every time I hear

Your transformation is meant to give more to society, not less. [In my best Oprah voice] You get some ❤️! And you get some ❤️! Your uniqueness is critical to the survival of the human species. If we all did the same thing, we would still be cooking up dinoburgers for dinner.

A warrior understands that their uniqueness is their contribution to humanity. Using their gifts to serve others is the rent we pay for being alive. And as I said in the first warrior principle, wealth, sharing your gift doesn’t mean going broke. Not only is humanity meant to benefit from your gift, but so are you. Don’t be shy about using your superpower to power your personal economy.

And we know Mizz Ross means it. Remember that time she was giving a concert in Central Park, and it started pouring? They wanted her to get off stage, but she said these people came out for a show, and she was going to give them a show. You don’t get much more original than Diana Ross. By the way, do you know she has never won a Grammy? 🤨

To be a warrior is not the exception; it’s the rule.
